I. Love. Textiles. I've been quilting since I could sit up on my own, knitting and needle felting for as long as I can remember, and perpetually obsessed with fashion and expression through clothing. For most of my life, I intended to go to fashion school, but in the end, I decided to go for the much more emplyable option...oboe performance. Honestly, what it came down to is I spent so much time in high school practicing music that I didn't have time to create a textile portfolio. My biggest regret at UW is that I didn't double major in textiles, but I honestly don't think it would've been possible to juggle the studio times with my ensemble schedule for music school. Alas, with graduation in sight, it is time for me to return to my passion. In early January, I finished knitting my first sweater, and I am promising myself that this is just the beginning.
